Georgia State's Economic Forecasting Center

Established in 1973 for the Research and Development of models related to national, regional and local economies.

Quarterly Forecast Highlights

Issued quarterly, the Quarterly Forecast publication provides tables describing employment and income characteristics for Georgia and Atlanta over the next two years. A five-year forecast is presented annually.

Simon S. Selig, Jr. Center for Economic Growth

THE SIMON S. SELIG, JR. CENTER FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH serves the state by issuing economic forecasts, conducting applied economic research, and publishing research findings and economic statistics. The Selig Center is a major source of information for national, regional, state, and local media. The center also provides information to business leaders, government agencies, and the general public and is an official cooperating agency with the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and the Construction Statistics Division, U.S. Bureau of the Census. Selig Center faculty serve as economic and financial advisors to many public and private organizations.

Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce

The Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce is made up of nearly 100 talented individuals devoted to serving the Chamber's members, expanding metro Atlanta's already thriving economy, and improving its quality of life and business. Through various programs, initiatives and services, the Chamber helps to make Atlanta not only a great place for doing business, but also a great place to live.

Atlanta Development Authority

The Atlanta Development Authority (ADA) is a public authority created by the City of Atlanta to promote the revitalization and growth of the City through a comprehensive and centralized program focusing on community development and redevelopment. It represents a consolidation of the City's economic and community development efforts in real estate, finance, marketing and employment, for the purpose of providing a focal point for improving Atlanta's neighborhoods and the quality of life for all of its citizens.

The Atlanta Development Authority is comprised of the Urban Residential Finance Authority, Downtown Development Authority and the Atlanta Economic Renaissance Corporation.

Economic Development

The Yamacraw project is making Georgia a world leader in the design of broadband communications systems, devices and chips. The Georgia Research Alliance combines Georgia’s research universities, business community and state government into a potent partnership for job development. The Georgia Allies, led by some of the state’s most influential companies, is hard at work developing the most successful public/private economic development marketing initiative in the world.

Atlanta Regional Commission

For more than 50 years, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and its predecessor agencies have been the key source of information about the Atlanta Region. As the regional planning agency for the 10-county area, ARC compiles the most current Atlanta Region data, forecasts future trends and keeps track of the most critical issues facing the area

The most current population and economic data about the region.
Plans and statistics on key regional issues such as water, transportation and smart growth land use practices.
Regional services including job training, aging and community resources.
