Careers in Consulting -- Preparing for the Case Interview

Case interviews are broadly defined as interviews geared around solving problems on the spot and they are one of the most common interview formats used by consulting firms. Its purpose is to evaluate an applicant’s analytical skills while introducing her/him to the kind of tasks consultants confront. The interviewer presents you with a real or simulated problem to consider. You are not expected to arrive at the "right answer" but rather to demonstrate the ability to break down the problem into manageable pieces, think well under pressure, and be convincing and persuasive. The following sources were created to help you anticipate and prepare for the case interview.

The Goizueta Consulting Association has several recommended case interview resources on thier website, and often offer practice sessions during the semester.
