Information Guides -- Careers in Investment Banking

The Investment Banking industry is focused on raising capital for companies and advising them on financing and merger alternatives. The players include national, full-line firms, such as Prudential Securities, large investment banks, such as Goldman Sachs, regional brokers, such as Morgan Keenan, discounters, like Ameritrade, and small, specialized boutiques.

The primary functions within investment banking can be broken into sales, trading, research, syndicate, and some corporate finance roles, such as M&A advisory services.
